Integrating CAIGOS GIS with the CAIGOS 360° AM grid management system significantly streamlines workflows during grid operations. By combining the strengths of both systems, it improves outage analysis and resolution as well as the planning of maintenance and servicing activities.
Supply disruptions must be resolved quickly. When a fault report is logged in the grid management system, the fault location must be identified and available teams dispatched immediately to resolve it. This is another key strength of the CAIGOS integration: the fault location is pinpointed and displayed in the GIS. Maintenance staff can assess the surrounding area at a glance and identify the affected assets.
Cost-effectiveness is central to planning and carrying out maintenance. In CAIGOS 360° AM, the maintenance process begins either with the definition of maintenance activities and their planning cycles or in response to condition-based criteria. As part of the work assignment process, suitable available resources are identified and scheduled to carry out the activities.
Integrating CAIGOS GIS optimises the maintenance process further: maintenance activities are planned not only by due date, but also by geographical location. Users mark an area in the GIS where upcoming maintenance work is to be carried out. Based on this selection, work orders can be generated automatically or following approval by the maintenance manager and then transferred digitally to the mobile devices used by field staff.
Reporting to the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur, BNetzA) or, where applicable, the relevant state regulatory authorities is also further streamlined by integrating CAIGOS GIS with the CAIGOS 360° AM grid management system. For example, network tracing in CAIGOS GIS identifies all affected house service connections. The data is prepared in line with BNetzA requirements, and reports are sent directly from Outage Management in CAIGOS 360° AM.
