Managing special uses of public space

In almost every municipality, public spaces are temporarily used by residents and businesses. A use is considered a special use when public roads or other public spaces are used beyond the scope of normal public use. As a rule, any special use requires prior written permission from the relevant local authority.

Special uses requiring permission may include placing tables and chairs on the pavement outside restaurants, setting up food stalls, creating temporary pavement crossings or construction-site entrances and exits, erecting scaffolding, positioning cranes, and storing materials or other objects.

Special use permits need to be recorded, documented, retrieved and analysed efficiently, transparently and with as little administrative effort as possible. CAIGOS Sondernutzung provides the specialist functionality required to manage these tasks.
