Key benefits

Seamless data exchange between CAIGOS and MapInfo

The bidirectional MIF/MID interface links the two GIS environments without data loss or manual workarounds.

Use MapInfo data directly in CAIGOS GIS

Vector and attribute data are imported in a structured process and automatically transferred to the relevant CAIGOS layers.

Clearly structured layers rather than complex mixed structures

If a file contains multiple object types, CAIGOS automatically creates a separate, logically structured layer for each type.

Standardised GIS integration with no additional work

Using the established MIF/MID format significantly reduces conversion work and manual data transfers between systems.

More efficient workflows for day-to-day GIS operations

Automated import and export processes save time and improve data quality during routine operations.

Bidirectional data exchange between CAIGOS GIS and MapInfo

The CAIGOS-MapInfo-Schnittstelle enables bidirectional data exchange using the MapInfo Interchange Format (MIF/MID).

The MIF import enables vector and attribute data to be imported from MapInfo into CAIGOS GIS and stored in the relevant layers. An import typically creates one layer per .mif file. The layer includes an attribute definition and attributes, as well as data access via key fields populated with the attribute data from the corresponding .mid file.

If a .mif file contains multiple object types, such as polygons and polylines in the same file, CAIGOS creates multiple CAIGOS layers.

The MIF export provides a straightforward way to create .mif files and the corresponding attribute data files for each CAIGOS layer. The exported files can then be readily reused.
