Key benefits

Use OGC services directly and efficiently

Web-based map and feature services can be integrated seamlessly.

Publish your own geodata in line with standards

Geographic information can be made available to third parties via established OGC protocols.

An ideal basis for your spatial data infrastructure (SDI)

CAIGOS brings internal and external geodata together efficiently and consistently.

Connect OGC services and publish in line with standards

CAIGOS GIS supports common GIS formats, geodatabases and geospatial services, and is built around the open standards of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). With CAIGOS GIS, you can integrate a wide range of web-based OGC services, including WMS, WMTS and WFS services as map layers. Where required, you can also use CAIGOS GIS to publish your own geographic information based on standard OGC protocols.

One of the OGC’s objectives is to define generally applicable standards for interoperability. As part of this standardisation, specifications are also defined for a range of web services that provide geodata via the web. These include the Web Feature Service (WFS), the Web Map Service (WMS) and the Web Map Tile Service (WMTS).

CAIGOS GIS gives you direct access to common OGC services. They are not limited to read-only integration: where appropriate, CAIGOS GIS can also serve as the user interface, for example when working with WMTS.

CAIGOS GIS can integrate both vector and raster data from any coordinate system. To query attribute information, CAIGOS GIS also supports the optional “GetFeatureInfo” function. All data from a CAIGOS GIS installation can also be made available via WMS, including vector, raster and specialist data. CAIGOS GIS includes an integrated WFS client for displaying vector data. The graphical representation of the data can be configured. Among other things, vector data can serve as a basis for the extensive CAD tools. The associated attribute data can be displayed using labels. Vector data from CAIGOS projects can, of course, also be published in the OGC standard.

By supporting OGC standards within CAIGOS, CAIGOS GIS can be ideally combined with other solutions used in your organisation as well as with external data providers and data users. It therefore provides the basis for an efficient spatial data infrastructure (SDI).
