OpenStreetMap (OSM) is designed to collect openly licensed geospatial data and maintain it in a database for use, supporting the principles of open data. OSM data can be used, for example, to create detailed maps, produce specialised maps or support navigation.
The project is built around a database system containing geographic data made available under the Open Database License for use and reuse.
The CAIGOS-OSM-Schnittstelle enables all spatial features to be imported as vector data, including the relevant attribute data. Polygon, polyline and point features can all be imported.
The imported data is available offline in the relevant CAIGOS project. Relevant attribute data is managed in CAIGOS GISDB. A wide range of searches, including searches for roads, bank branches, car parks and points of interest, can be carried out using the CAIGOS SuchCenter or GISDB tables.
Automatic daily data updates are supported. Imports can also be scheduled or started manually. The imported data is well suited for use as a data source in CAIGOS Apps.
