With CAIGOS Kanal | Massen-Kosten-Vermögen (CAIGOS MKV), you have a clear overview of the quantities, costs and asset values of your sewer network at all times. CAIGOS MKV enables quantity calculation, costing and asset valuation for the pipe sections, manholes and special structures held in the data set.
A key advantage is the direct connection with the CAIGOS Kanal specialist application. All changes made there in the sewer asset register are automatically taken into account in CAIGOS MKV. A change in dimension, for example, is reflected directly in quantity calculations or asset valuation. However, the data does not necessarily have to be held in CAIGOS Kanal. It can also be imported from another system or created directly in CAIGOS MKV.
For costing, individual and specific details can be entered, such as PAH surcharges for disposal during surface break-up works. When calculating depreciation, the system uses a straight-line depreciation rate by default. There are various options for transferring the data to different commercial systems, including fixed asset accounting.
In principle, the calculation methods can be used both for costing a new, planned sewer system and for valuing an existing system, or part of one.
Because commercial information is often unavailable, especially for older networks, CAIGOS MKV provides assumptions in the form of presets. Some of the data required for calculation, such as shoring type or ground improvement, is sometimes unavailable for older manholes and pipe sections, or would need to be gathered from historical documents and records. To simplify this work, CAIGOS MKV provides dedicated presets: a valuation based on three parameters – surface material, installation depth and pipe dimension.
For quantity calculation, all calculation-relevant data can be described, including terrain levels, installation depths, pipe or manhole material, and trench-specific parameters such as shoring type, bedding and ground improvement. It is sufficient to define the trench structure for one pipe section or manhole. The completed description can then be applied to the entire route. You can adapt the calculation formulae at any time to meet your specific requirements or adjust them for project-specific characteristics.
With CAIGOS MKV, the CAIGOS Geo-IT platform supports public administrations, expert assessors and engineering consultancies in creating and updating the asset register used to calculate acquisition and replacement values.
