Many utilities use power system analysis software to plan and operate their networks. To avoid duplicate data entry, CAIGOS GmbH provides integrations between CAIGOS GIS and leading power system analysis applications.
CAIGOS GIS supports the entire planning process. Storing extensive network information in the GIS makes it much easier to collect and keep up to date. The data held in CAIGOS GIS provide a complete, topologically correct representation of the network and a consistent basis for network calculations.
The CAIGOS-PowerFactory-Schnittstelle makes data from CAIGOS GIS available to PowerFactory, the power system analysis software from DIgSILENT GmbH. All network elements and associated parameters required for calculations in PowerFactory are transferred from CAIGOS. Network tracing in CAIGOS GIS allows users to select precisely which elements to include.
The central GIS database contains all the data required for the calculations, allowing the data to be maintained in the familiar CAIGOS environment. This ensures consistency and prevents the databases from falling out of sync. Planning is based on the current state of the network and therefore remains up to date at all times.
